By driving an 1,800-foot tunnel the Monarch Mining company has drained the district and properties which have been idle for years. Operations are being renewed. Mills are in the making now that there is an abundance of water and electric power. Several Carsonites hold interest in the camp as well as a number of pioneer settlers of Jumbo. It is now owned by a San Francisco concern and contracts have been let for extensive exploration. The richest gold ore mined in Nevada has come from this district.

Flowers are the emblems of love and purity; the embodiment of beauty; and their lives, their brightness and freshness remind us of those whose memory we would to-day honor.
