Monday at the Fallon City Council meeting began No-Shave November, and Mayor Ken Tedford used the day to make everyone aware of cancer and to take the appropriate steps of screening, consulting and showing awareness of family history for cancer. Tedford said he began to recognize the month when former Gov. Kenny Guinn was treated for prostate cancer. In his proclamation, Tedford applauded the 17 million cancer survivors in the United States and thanked the healthcare professionals, scientists and researchers. He said the City of Fallon, the Mayor and City Council have indicated a desire to help support research, awareness and treatment of cancer by promoting a program entitled “No-Shave November.”
