Bonfire Entertainment announced recently in a press release the finalized return of WinterWonderGrass California, at Palisades Tahoe.
Palisades Tahoe (formerly Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows) has hosted the festival since it started in 2013 that’s been based around music, brews and mountains.
The lineup from the postponed 2020 festival has rolled over to 2022 and is already nearing sell out. In addition to those rolled over bands, WWG CA welcomes The California Honeydrops as the third and final headliner. Fans in attendance will also see two sets of Billy Strings, along with performances by The Infamous Stringdusters, Peter Rowan, Keller & The Keels, Fruition, The War & Treaty, Brothers Comatose, Kitchen Dwellers, Della Mae, Lindsay Lou, Larry Keel Experience, Town Mountain, Trout Steak Revival, Midnight North, Cris Jacobs, Pixie & The Partygrass Boys, Old Salt Union, Rapidgrass, TK & The Holy Know Nothings and Twisted Pine. Special performances are also scheduled from the collaborative, rotating powerhouse, WinterWonderWomen featuring Bridget Law and Lindsay Lou. Additionally, Pickin’ on the Dead will make their WinterWonderGrass return.
Weekend passes to the festival, as well as Tram to Table Dinner tickets, are on sale at winterwondergrass.com.
The festival is known to sell out in advance so interested attendees are urged to grab their tickets soon. Fans can also sign up to snag sold out VIP tickets via the festival's official fan-to-fan ticket exchange, powered by Lyte.
A free show in the Village will kick off the festivities on Thursday, March 31, from 2 to 5 p.m. A Tram-to-Table Dinner featuring music by Keller Williams will take place from 5 to 9 p.m. Tickets for the event are separate. The dinner includes a 10-minute ride in a panoramic tram car up to High Camp, where views of Lake Tahoe are abundant.
Stay tuned to the festival's official website and Facebook page for updates, including Grass After Dark (late night) announcements, single-day ticket offerings, beer partners and more.
After the global pandemic put a hold on music — including two of WinterWonderGrass's 2020 stops — Bonfire Entertainment re-imagined what COVID-era music gatherings looked like. Whether it was the river voyages of RiverWonderGrass in Colorado over the summers of 2020 and 2021, or two days of Billy Strings in Buena Vista, Colorado for the first Renewal this past September, Bonfire Entertainment has reiterated music gatherings can take place, safely, outdoors year-round.
“Some things may have changed, but thankfully, some things have not. It’s incredibly humbling and inspiring that the entire 2020 lineup, except one, are all returning for 2022,” remarks festival founder and producer, Scotty Stoughton. “For the artists to make that kind of commitment is unheard of and a huge testament to the love and enthusiasm that these bands have for WWG and Tahoe. … The entire WWG team is feeling blessed, and grateful, to be able to return to a place that feels like home!”
