The Rotary Club of Carson City Food Drive is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 13 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 400 W. King St., in Carson City.
Rotarians will have a tent set up at that location directly across from the Brewery Arts Center. Club members will be collecting food for the Thanksgiving holiday as well as food for pets.
“Carson Rotarians are eager to assist those in our community who otherwise would not have a Thanksgiving meal,” Rotary President Richard Perry said in a news release. “This year we are partnering with two local organizations who help feed both people and pets, F.I.S.H and Feeding Pets of the Homeless.”
Those donating can drive up and a club member will take the donations right from the car. Items requested include: Turkeys, chicken broth, green beans, corn, cranberry sauce, yams, stuffing, gravy, and instant or fresh potatoes.
Rotarians are also asking for dog food, cat food, and cat litter.
“We have learned how important pets are to families as well as homeless individuals”, Perry said in the release. “We want to make sure they are cared for as well.”
Checks or cash also will be accepted.
