A pedestrian was killed Wednesday evening when struck by a car on U.S. 50 near Deer Run Road.
Carson City Sheriff’s deputies initially responded to the scene, but Nevada Highway Patrol investigators are handling the investigation.
Trooper Charles Casten said the area is not well lit. The crash occurred about 7:30 p.m.
He said the westbound lanes of the highway were shut down for a time while the scene was cleared.
The name of the victim has not yet been released.
