Earlier this month, another Campagni Cares recipient was selected: the For Kids Foundation, assisting children from birth through age 20, in Northern Nevada.
“The For Kids Foundation caught our eye because of the unique services they provide for our community,” said Jeff Campagni, general manager of Carson City Toyota. “There are so many wonderful charities out there that reach so many diverse purposes, but sometimes needs just get missed. That’s where For Kids Foundation picks up.”
Since 2003, For Kids Foundation has been providing funding for the urgent, unmet needs of local children.
“The majority of our services come from referrals such as parents, school counselors, pediatricians, teachers, therapists, and more, to help us identify those in need,” said Annie Goni-Stewart, executive director of For Kids Foundation. “From a new bed because a child has been sleeping on the floor, to emergency dental care, and so much more; we truly aim to provide anything that is ‘For Kids’ to those in our community.”
In addition to the great on-going services they provide, For Kids is also teaming up for with Food for Thought and the Carson City School District next month for a special event. The third annual Warm Coats for Kids will provide warm coats and items for kids in need. Thanks to a donation from Clothers4Souls and Macy’s, the For Kids Foundation will be in Carson City on Nov. 13 from noon to 3 p.m. handing out items to local youth.
“If it’s anything like last year, we expect each child to receive Bombas socks and brand-new winter coats in sizing ranging from toddler to XXXL,” says Goni-Stewart. “We also need volunteers the day of this event. Seeing kids leave with what, for many, will be their first-ever brand new coat is priceless.”
