The Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Nevada owes a tremendous “thank you” to everyone who participated in the 28th annual Luau last month. The dinner raised over $250,000, doubling what was raised in 2020’s virtual format.
“It felt so good to have this event back in person and celebrate with many of our long standing donors,” said Hannah Stigall, BGCWN Events Director. “The funds raised at this event are a critical component of the BGCWN budget which makes it possible for us to provide our youth and teen programs throughout Carson City and Carson Valley.”
The evening was full of fun and exciting auction items, mai tais and great BBQ food from Carson City BBQ. The evening also honored the late Mayor Bob Crowell by presenting the first inaugural Robert Crowell Community Ambassador Award to Michael Hohl Automotive Group.
A very special thank you to Bodines & SlotWorld, the headline sponsors; They have sponsored the event for 14 years! Their unwavering support is appreciated. Thank you also to Rise, Bently Nevada, Briggs Electric, Capital Beverage, Carson Tahoe Health, Dutch Bros. Coffee, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 401, ISCO, Miles Construction, Model Dairy, Rice Street Events, Shoe Tree Brewing Co., Southwest Gas, Allison MacKenzie, Tahoe Supply, City National Bank, Gold Dust West, John & Grace Nauman Foundation, JP Morgan & Chase, Kassity Management Group, LP Insurance & Services, Lumos & Associates, Renown, Silver State Government Relations, United Federal Credit Union, VT Accounting Associates, Westside Pour House, Western Nevada Supply, Vince & Megan Lopresti, and Waste Management for supporting this event and for their commitment to our youth.
The 2022 Luau is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 10.
