Assemblywoman Lisa Krasner, R-Reno, announced Wednesday she is running for the District 16 seat in the Nevada Senate.
That seat is currently held by fellow Republican Ben Kieckhefer, who is term limited and cannot seek re-election.
District 16 represents Carson City, south Reno and Incline Village.
Krasner was first elected in 2016 and has served in the Assembly through three regular and two special sessions of the Legislature.
“I promise to continue to fight for common-sense conservative values as your representative in the Nevada state Senate,” she said.
Krasner said that includes upholding the Constitution, blocking tax increases, supporting the Second Amendment and providing parents with a greater voice in their children’s education.
A lawyer, she is an adjunct professor at Truckee Meadows Community College, teaching courses on the Nevada and U.S. constitutions.
