The Carson City Sheriff’s Office has released summer crime statistics for the capital.
The department reported 100 felony and 88 misdemeanor arrests during the “100 Days of Safe Summer” enforcement program. A significant number of those arrests involved drugs and resulted in the seizure of about one pound of meth, heroin and cocaine along with $12,351 in cash.
The list includes eight arrests involving drug-endangered children.
Deputies also issued 762 traffic citations during the program.
Sgt. Sal Acosta credited community support for the statistics. He encouraged area residents to continue reaching out to the department with tips and information about what’s happening in their neighborhoods.
