Bible thought: Moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.
Ezekiel 36:26
A few decades ago, computer experts told us that when garbage goes in, garbage comes out. Two thousand years ago, Jesus said that we become what is in our heart.
Mark 7:14-23
When I fill my heart with worries, I become a nervous wreck. When I house bitterness, I become unforgiving. When my heart dwells on daily terrors, I become a pessimist.
With what shall I fill my heart?
God says that I need a new heart and a new spirit. What a blessing to have him as my surgeon! With that new heart and new spirit come God’s installation of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
Galatians 5:22-23
My new heart is filled with God’s good, and that’s what will come forth from within!

Lord, our old life will destroy us. God thank you for the promise of newness! May we allow you to make us anew in your image. Through our savior we pray, amen.
