Conflict Counsel Attorney Services

Carson City is accepting Letters of Interest

from licensed Nevada attorneys who are in

good standing to perform legal services for

indigent defendants when the State Public

Defender’s Office has declared a conflict. The

contract term is expected to begin on June 1,

2022, through June 30, 2023. A new contract

term beginning July 1, 2023, through June 30,

2026, will be available to apply for.

Compensation: $12,500 for the month of June

2022. $14,583.34 per month from July 1,

2022, through June 30, 2023.

The conflict attorneys are appointed an

average of 135 new cases per year, including

Juvenile and 432(B) cases to be heard in the

First Judicial District Court and the Carson

City Justice/Municipal Court.

must be on the Department of Indigent Defense

list as a qualified attorney.

A selection committee will review the letters of

interest and make a recommendation to the Carson

City Board of Supervisors for final approval.
