Mile High Jazz Band presents Jazz Extravaganza in Carson City

The Mile High Jazz Band and three youth jazz bands will present the 18th annual Jazz Extravaganza concert on Feb. 22 at 7 p.m., in the Bob Boldrick Theater at the Carson City Community Center.
The extravaganza is sponsored by the Mile High Jazz Band Association as a benefit for youth jazz programs and will feature the four big bands, vocalist Jakki Ford, and an intergenerational combo performance.
Performing will be Carson High School Jazz Band Director Nick Jacques, Carson Middle School Jazz Band Director Stephanie Van Orman and, for the first time this year, the Reno Youth Jazz Orchestra will be directed by Vern Scarbrough.
Tickets are $10. All proceeds will go to the performing groups.
Kids under the age of 18 are free.
