Did you know that Carson City has its own community radio station? KNVC airs on 95.1 FM and is home to several locally-produced shows. Learn about one of these, My Soul University Radio Hour, when host Kitty McKay joins the Rotary Club of Carson City’s meeting on Tuesday, January 18th.
The public is invited to attend the meeting which takes place at noon in the Brewery Arts Center’s Grand Ballroom.
Created and hosted by McKay and moderated by Ken Farley, My Soul University Radio Hour features engaging guests who share their stories of triumph over life’s challenges and how they’ve used those challenges to change their lives and impact others.
“I launched My Soul University Radio Hour to offer tangible hope to listeners as life increasingly intensifies our fears, anxieties, loneliness...The challenges we're all facing aren't going away, so we need tools to navigate them,” McKay said. “The show explores the life stories of guests who have walked through the toughest of times and made peace with their pain. As we hear about the insights they've gained, we begin to see our own way to make a similar shift.”
McKay says the guests are unflinching in their willingness to reveal themselves without apology. “We learn so much about our shared humanity hearing about their struggles and triumphs related to homelessness, suicide, depression, addiction, cancer, dealing with a parent's murder, infertility, adoption, to name a few topics we've covered.” She also says that while the issues are serious, the show is upbeat and positive.  “While the journeys our guests describe have been filled with hurt, the growth and peace they've discovered helps listeners find more strength to move through their own life; the good, the bad and the ugly.”
My Soul University Radio Hour airs Sundays at 5:00 P.M. on 95.1 FM and is available as a livestream and on-demand at www.knvc.org
