Hartman’s criticism about Sisolak off base
Jim Hartman needs to do a bit more investigating if he wants to present a fair and accurate commentary bashing the way Gov. Sisolak handled the COVID-19 response. Within days of his commentary on Nevada being ranked near the lowest on response many national news sources were covering  Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis, “DeSantis said one of his biggest regrets in office was not speaking out "much louder" in March 2020, when President Trump advised the nation to stay home to slow the fast-spreading coronavirus,” CNN reported.
Not many governors were prepared to handle a pandemic — the likes of which had not been seen since 1918. I would have expected a national pandemic to have been guided and directed by the federal government, since it involved all states, but the Trump White House had wrapped the group working on pandemic responses into the NSC's bio-terrorism department, losing the focus. The first covid cases were here on the west coast, and most followed the directive of President Trump. As the criticism grew, especially because the virus was affecting different states at different times, federal oversight "dropped out" and each state was left alone to figure it out.
What would you have done as a business owner? How many small business owners would have become infected? The “I can do whatever I want and to hell with you" attitude that seems to exist in our area would have had 70% not wearing masks, ever. Your bashing of our Governor's actions just contributes to that attitude.
