Large debris pile burns overnight in Silver Springs

At approximately 2 a.m. Friday, the Central Lyon County Fire Protection District (CLCFPD) was dispatched to 3625 Cypress Street in Silver Springs for a reported large debris fire.

Upon arrival found a large back yard of debris on fire and initiated fire attack and exposure protection. The Lyon County Road Department has provided heavy equipment to assist suppression efforts.

CLCFPD will be on scene for an extended period of time and advises the fire and smoke will be visible as residents wake up and begin driving to work.

There are no reported injuries and a cause has not been determined at this time.
