The Carson City Treasurer’s Office is reminding residents that their annual tax bill should arrive in the mail this week.
The 2022-23 Real Property Tax bill covers the period from July 1, 2022 until June 30, 2023. The Carson City Treasurer’s Office mails the annual tax bill in July of each year and only one tax bill to a property owner.
Nevada law sets the due dates when property owners must pay their property taxes, and if a property owner’s bill is more than $100, the property owner can make the tax payments in four installments between August 2022 and March 2023. The due dates for these four tax payments this tax year will be:
• Monday, Aug. 15 (the third Monday of August)
• Monday, Oct. 3 (the first Monday of October)
• Monday, Jan. 2, 2023 (the first Monday of January)
• Monday, March 6, 2023 (the first Monday of March)
Property owners can make payments online at www.carson.org/taxes, by mail or make payments in person at the Carson City Treasurer’s Office located at 201 N. Carson City, Suite 5.
The Carson City Treasurer’s Office reminds property owners that if they previously had a mortgage lender that made property tax payments, and the property owner has since paid off the mortgage, the property owner is now responsible for making the property tax payments.
If a property owner does not receive a tax bill by Monday, Aug. 1, or has questions about a tax bill, the property owner can contact the Carson City Treasurer’s Office at 775-887-2092 or at treasurer@carson.org.
