Through June, Nevada has suffered 187 roadway deaths.
That is three more than in the same period last year when 184 had died on the roads.
That total includes 39 pedestrians compared to 40 a year ago and 41 people not wearing seatbelts compared to 44 last year.
One of the most significant increases was in motorcyclists killed in crashes. At the end of June 2021, 34 bikers had died. The total this past June was 43, an increase of 26 percent.
Another category showing an increase was bicyclists — eight deaths through June compared to five in the first half of last year.
The monthly statistics are prepared by the Nevada Office of Traffic Safety
