The Public Utilities Commission of Nevada has scheduled a June 9 hearing on the 2019 Legislature’s bill expanding the Solar Access Program.
The commission is charged with developing the access program and setting rates for participating in it. The program requires NV Energy to offer certain customers the opportunity to have their electric power derived from a mix of utility providers and community-based solar providers without requiring customers to install solar systems on their properties.
The hearing will provide the commission information on the program costs for customers in both the north and south.
The hearing is set for 6 p.m. on June 9. The live telephone conference line is 877-820-7831 and the access code is 507006. Comments can also be submitted in person or by mail to the PUCN Carson City office at 1150 William St., Suite 250.
Public comment is limited to 5 minutes per person.
People can also go on the PUCN website at puc.nv.gov then select electric dockets and scroll to Docket No. 22-03004.
