With the help of Carson City Toyota the sheriff’s office recently was able to purchase non-critical but important life-saving devices for the K9 unit, according to a news release.
“We’ve supported the sheriff’s office, particularly the K9 unit, for a number of years now,” Jeff Campagni, general manager of Carson City Toyota, said in the release. “We know how much training these teams put in, not just on the clock, but 24/7. They don’t just leave their dog at work. It becomes a full-time family member, and we know how important it is to keep them every bit as safe as the humans on the job.”
Animals are unique in their needs, but with the recently purchased North American Rescue K9 Tactical Field Kits, they provide solutions specifically for use with potential injuries of police dogs.
“We’re so grateful to be able to equip each of our K9 Officers with one of these field kits, along with some training on how to use them. While we hope our deputies never have to utilize them, we are thankful to know they’ll be prepared,” said CCSO Sheriff Ken Furlong.
This year, in recognition of their long-standing partnership, the CCSO K9 Team honored Carson City Toyota as their “K9 Partner” for 2022.
“We love helping the hard-working men, women and dogs of the Carson City Sheriff’s Office,” said Campagni. “We have such a great relationship with Sheriff Furlong and his leadership team, who are always looking for new and creative ways to serve our community. We are grateful to be able to help in whatever small way we can.”
