A Las Vegas man pleaded guilty Monday to felony charges for participating in the Jan. 6, 2021 riot at the U.S. Capitol.
Nathaniel DeGrave, 32, entered the plea in the District of Columbia court to conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding and assaulting, resisting or impeding officers.
He has agreed to cooperate with the government’s ongoing investigation.
Court documents say DeGrave, Ronald Sandlin, 34, of Tennessee and Josiah Colt of Idaho illegally went past the barricades and law enforcement and pushed their way into a door to the Capitol Rotunda, forcing the door open and letting a mob stream inside. DeGrave and two others forced their way past officers and into the Senate gallery. DeGrave, documents say, shouted at others to take senators’ laptops, paperwork and everything else they could.
Colt has already pleaded guilty to charges in the case. Sandlin has pleaded not guilty.
DeGrave faces up to 20 years in prison for conspiracy and up to eight years for assaulting officers.
No sentencing date has been announced.
