Fallon man charged with murder returns to court

A continuance for a Fallon man charged with a 2020 murder will be heard Thursday in New River Justice Court.
An investigation conducted by the Churchill County Sheriff’s Office concluded Robert Shannon Collins and Torri Anne Gibbs allegedly killed 48-year-old Sean Erin Green almost two years ago.
Sheriff Richard Hickox said Friday the CCSO responded to a call on 71 Rio Vista Drive on March 26, 2020. He said deputies found a man inside a travel trailer.
“The death was determined to be a homicide based on evidence on scene,” Hickox said.
According to Hickox, Collins was taken into custody in Kansas and extradited to Fallon to stand trial. He is being held without bail in the Churchill County Detention Facility.

Gibbs was taken into custody in Lyon County, and Hickox said she is also being held at the Churchill County Detention Center. Gibbs is also being held without bail.
Collins appeared last week before Judge Ben Trotter who read the charges against him.
Collins is being charged with first degree felony murder with use of a firearm, specifically a handgun. He allegedly killed Green by shooting him multiple times. This Category A Felony is punishable by a 50-year sentence, life in prison or the death penalty.
Conspiracy to Commit murder is a Category B Felony where he conspired with Gibbs to kill Green. This charge is punishable by a prison sentence of 2-to-10 years.
Burglary with a firearm or Deadly Weapon charges Collins with entering Green’s home with the intent to commit murder. This charge is punishable by a sentence of 1-to-15 years in prison.
Discharging a Firearm at or into an occupied structure alleges Collins shot inside Green’s home with the victim occupying the residence. This charge carries a penalty of 1-to-2 years in prison.
Destroying or concealing evidence charges with Collins cone align a gun magazine in the hidden compartment of a vehicle, a gross misdemeanor. This carries a charge of 364 days in jail.
