Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford said U.S. Justice Department money will pay for grants to law enforcement, prosecutors, court officials and non-profits to receive training.
The training is through the Services Training Officers Prosecutors program and the Sexual Assault Services Program.
He said the money is through the Office on Violence Against Women and supports programs that enhance victim safety and hold offenders accountable for crimes of intimate partner violence, sexual assault, dating violence and stalking.
He said those victims should never be blamed for the crimes committed against them and the state must do everything possible to ensure those victims have the help they need.
Agencies and non-profits interested in the grants have until April 1 to apply. Information is available from grants manager Debbie Tanaka at DTanaka@ag.nv.gov.
