Kidnapping suspect arrested on I-80 east of Fernley

Nevada State Police troopers this week chased and arrested a man accused of armed carjacking and kidnapping on Interstate 80 near the Trinity exit.
Davon Robinson-Bowls, 20, of Kansas City, Missouri faces 11 criminal counts.
Troopers were informed of the kidnapping by Rocklin, California, Police who said the stolen Nissan Altima with Kentucky plates was spotted near Boomtown heading east.
When they spotted the car near Fernley, the driver sped away, attempting to evade pursuing troopers.
During the chase, troopers saw the driver throw a black object from the car window — a handgun troopers later recovered.
The driver was finally convinced to pull over by Nevada State Police dispatchers near the exit 83.
Robinson-Bowls was booked into the Churchill County jail on charges of attempted first degree kidnapping, possession of a firearm by an ex-felon, attempting to evade/elude officers, auto theft, reckless driving, carrying a concealed weapon, no driver’s license, false statements to obstruct officers, possession of controlled substances and as a fugitive from justice.
The victim was provided with counseling and a safe place to stay.
