Gov. Steve Sisolak said Monday he has asked Clark County prosecutors not to prosecute the two men who verbally assaulted him, his wife and daughter at a Las Vegas restaurant.
They were accosted by the men with verbal insults and profanities at Sisolak’s daughter and racist slurs aimed at his wife, Kathy.
“As a husband, I’m outraged at the ethnic slurs and threats aimed at my wife,” he said. “As a father, I cannot forget or forgive the vulgar and foul language hurled at my daughter.”
But as governor, he said he feels obliged to avoid further fueling and, at worst, glorifying the anger and violence plaguing the nation and state. He said if there was a trial, “it would, provide this small minority of Nevadans more opportunity to spew their vile.”
