Gov. Steve Sisolak said Thursday his budget for the coming biennium will restore the money state workers lost because of furloughs ordered to balance the state budget.
The furloughs were implemented in the first half of 2021.
He said that will cost about $25 million and will be paid for with American Rescue Plan dollars.
“This restoration is just one way to say thank you for your personal sacrifice to keep the state afloat during difficult financial times,” he said.
He also committed to continue working on ways to support recruitment and retention through employee pay and benefits.
