The Nevada Department of Transportation will begin work Oct. 9 to reconstruct the walking/biking path along U.S. Highway 50 in east Carson City.
That will result in night lane and shoulder closures on weekdays between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. through December.
But officials said at least one lane of U.S. 50 will be open in each direction and business access will remain available. Most travel delays will be minor, according to officials.
Crews will reconstruct the existing asphalt path on the south side of the highway from North Lompa Lane and Airport Road, converting it to a concrete shared-use path with improved ramps and enhanced access and safety features for pedestrians and bicyclists.
