Gov. Steve Sisolak on Thursday told a group of union members he will recommend increasing the Medicaid reimbursement rate for home care services in the coming budget.

Speaking to members of the Service Employees International Union, he said he wants to raise the rate for home care services to $25 and implement a $15 an hour minimum wage for home care workers.

“We expanded health care accessibility and affordability in my first term and supported our home care workers as they guided us through the pandemic,” he said. “It’s long overdue that we make sure their pay reflects the hard work they put in.”
