Douglas High girls’ soccer had quite the offensive outburst Thursday at home against Spanish Springs.
In the 30th minute, junior Aleeah Weaver took advantage of a Camden Miller pass to deposit her first goal of the game.
Eight minutes later, Weaver knocked the ball up to fellow junior Ava Coons, who danced her way around a defender before using her left foot to find the top shelf.
It was more of the same in the second half as Weaver put together two more goals for a hat trick.
Miller also tallied a goal in the 5-0 win over the Cougars.
“Even last year, Aleeah was a player to look at,” said Douglas head coach Andrew Robles. “Her and Ava are good. … They have to create opportunities and get goals in and this game was a perfect example.”
UP NEXT: Douglas (4-2, 2-0 in league play) will head to Reno (2-0-1, 2-0-1) on Tuesday.
