The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information on alleged armed robbery that took place Wednesday morning at the Valero Gas Station, 100 Douglas St. in Dayton.

At 9:40 a.m. a male subject described as being between 5-feet 8-inches and 5-feet 10-inches tall entered the store and proceeded to go behind the register concealing a firearm under a sweatshirt.

The suspect threatened to shoot the store clerk while demanding money.

The man stole an undisclosed amount of money and fled. He reportedly fled westbound on Highway 50 in a silver or gray SUV, possibly a Toyota or Mitsubishi, a press release from the LCSO said.

The vehicle was reported to have a tire rack on the rear, the same color as the vehicle. A separate vehicle of interest, a white Chevrolet Malibu was observed in the area around the time of the crime.

The man is described as having a goatee. He was wearing a black sweatshirt with the word “savage” on the front. The back had teeth on the upper and lower parts of the sweatshirt. The man also was wearing camouflaged shorts and white and blue shoes.
