Best of Carson City nominations are now open

The weather is heating up and so is the Nevada Appeal’s annual Best of Carson City contest.

Nominations open Monday for the Best of Carson City 2023.

Nominations will be accepted between Monday, May 1 and Sunday, May 21 at bestofcarsoncity.com.

To nominate, go to bestofcarsoncity.com and write in your favorites in the various categories. You can also nominate using the Nevada Appeal’s free mobile app.

People can nominate more than one business but can only nominate in each category once per day. You can nominate daily.

A nomination doesn’t guarantee a business will make it through to final voting.

We will only be taking the top nominated people and businesses into the voting finals — so nominations are as important as final voting. Think of it as a primary election.

Once the nominations are tallied, there is about a three-week window to vote for the finalists. Voting will take place from June 3-June 25.

This is our fifth year for the nomination process. The nomination process helps us clean up the entire process. In the past, in some cases, we would have more than 20 businesses nominated and some of those businesses may have only received one nomination while the top one, hundreds. When trying to find the best, you want the best of the best to pick from. We are shooting for the consensus best.
