Western Nevada College has scheduled a Purple Heart ceremony on Wednesday, Feb. 8 at 10 a.m. to honor United States veterans who have lost life or limb serving their country.

The ceremony, which will introduce six Purple Heart parking spaces on Western’s three campuses, will be held in the parking area between the Child Development Center and the Bristlecone Building on the Carson City campus. Four Purple Heart parking spaces will be available near the Bristlecone Building. Parking signs have been created for these spaces, which will be available only to Purple Heart recipients who have a Purple Heart license plate/handicap parking sticker.

Following the ceremony, food and refreshments will be served in the Veterans Resource Center in the Cedar Building.

The public is invited to attend the ceremony and get-together afterward in the VRC.
