Through the first three quarters Tuesday night, Douglas High boys basketball carried a nine-point lead over the Reed Raiders, but that quickly escalated in the fourth.

Powered by a 30-6 fourth quarter, the Tigers were able to take down Reed, 73-40, to move to 12-8 overall this winter.

Jett Lehmann had a team-high 15 points on 7-of-9 shooting from the floor to pace Douglas.

“Over time the game has just slowed down, so it’s easier to score,” said Lehmann, who is a junior.

By his own head coach’s definition, Lehmann is ‘sneaky long’ and has the ability to get above the rim and make it look effortless.

With the Tiger defense thriving on transition opportunities, Lehmann is ready for one thing when he’s on the fast break.

“I’m looking for dunks,” Lehmann said.

Theo Reid had another solid performance on both ends of the floor for Douglas posting 12 points, six rebounds and six blocks.

Reid has the second most blocks in the state this year with 65 and is averaging more than three rejections per contest.

Caden Thacker added 12 points, four rebounds and four steals in the victory.

The Tigers bested McQueen Friday evening in Reno, 48-42.

Douglas is now 9-3 in Class 5A North league play and sits a half-game in front of Reno (8-3) for second place.
