Carson City School District to host job fair Tuesday

Carson City School District will host a job fair from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the district office, 1402 W. King St.

The district is looking to hire bus drivers, cooks/bakers, paraprofessionals (instructional assistants, classroom aides, ESL assistants, etc.) custodians, groundskeepers, distance education assistants, campus monitors, substitutes, teachers and more. Positions are open immediately and include entry level, part-time and full-time.

To qualify as a substitute teacher, candidates must have attained a high school diploma. The district is looking for licensed teachers in the areas of special education, elementary education, NJROTC, computer science, math, science, social studies, dean of students and interventions.

In addition, the district is seeking prospective employees who have a bachelor’s degree in an area other than teaching who might be interested in becoming a licensed teacher through the Alternative Routes to Licensure (ARL) program in Nevada. If hired as an ARL teacher, the Carson City School District will reimburse expenses to complete the iTeach program while teaching.

This is a free event and there will be no registration required for job seekers. It is recommended that interested applicants dress professionally and come to the job fair with extra copies of resumes. Onsite interviews will be available for some positions.
