The Greenwave baseball team wasted no time scoring in its season-opening win over Wooster on Saturday.

Fallon scored six runs in the first inning before blanking the visiting Reno school, 10-0, in a shortened five-inning game at the Edward Arciniega Athletic Complex.

The Greenwave, which played a rescheduled game against Sparks on Monday, will travel to Hug on Friday and North Valleys on Saturday. Both games, though, may be moved to Fallon due to field conditions.

Junior southpaw Bryce Adams picked up the win, striking out six in four innings and allowing only one walk and four hits. Baylor Sandberg struck out the side in the final inning.

Five players had multi-hit performances Brady Alves, Steven Moon, Isaac Martinez, Carter Paul and Sandberg each contributing to Fallon’s offense. Martinez, Paul and James Kelsey each drove in two, and Moon, Sandberg and Cooper Lee each had an RBI.

The first five Fallon hitters reached base in the six-run first inning when Alves led off with a single. Lee’s double to left drove in Alves for the first run of the game. Two more runs scored when Kelsey’s grounder was misplayed in the infield, allowing Lee and Moon to cross the plate.

Martinez doubled on the first pitch to left, driving in Kelsey and Isaiah Diaz, to give Fallon a 5-0 lead before Paul’s RBI single to center scored Martinez.

Sandberg’s triple to center in the second increased the lead to seven when Kelsey scored from first, and Martinez stole home in the following inning for an 8-0 advantage.

After Paul’s single scored Sandberg in the fourth, Fallon ended the game in the next inning when Moon doubled in Mason Storm from first.
