A Dayton woman was killed when she was hit by a semitruck in Dayton on April 13, according to a Nevada State Police news release.
Alena Persch, 49, was pronounced dead at the scene, the release said.
On April 13, at 7:30 a.m., Nevada State Police responded to a reported crash at U.S. 50 and Ft. Churchill Road in Dayton. It was determined Persch was walking across U.S. 50 through the eastbound travel lanes toward Ft. Churchill Road when she was struck by a green Peterbilt semitruck towing doubles.
Nevada State Police Highway Patrol Northern Command West Multidisciplinary Investigation and Reconstruction Team is investigating this crash.
It was the ninth fatal crash and Persch was the ninth fatality for 2023 for the Nevada State Police, Highway Patrol – Northern Command West.
