The Carson City Fire Department worked to extinguish a fire in a storage unit at 2151 Lone Mountain Drive on Friday morning.

Units responded to a vehicle fire at 9:23 a.m. According to CCFD Battalion Chief Micah Horton, the vehicle fire spread to the storage unit, which stands near apartment buildings and a mobile home park.

The fire was contained quickly.

“We’re checking the attic space right now,” Horton said.

He believed no one was in the structure at the time of the blaze. The cause of the fire will be investigated. Carson City Sheriff’s Office personnel were also on scene as temporary closure of Lone Mountain Drive necessitated traffic control.

“Our investigator is in route,” Horton said.
