‘Peanutcracker’ at Carson City Community Center Dec. 2

Sierra Nevada Ballet brings “Peanutcracker: The Story in a Nutshell” this holiday season to Northern Nevada.

Performances are set for 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2 at the Carson City Community Center, 851 E. William St. The 4 p.m. performance will include a Spanish narration.

More performances are set for 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3 at the Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts in Reno.

“Peanutcracker: The Story in a Nutshell” is designed for families with younger children as a perfect way to introduce them to the world of ballet.

The 45-minute narrated show will feature a glowing Christmas tree, an electrifying Rat King battle, and characters such as Clara and the Sugar Plum Fairy.
