The Nevada Division of Environmental Protection Bureau of Air Pollution Control (BAPC) is opening public comment regarding the revision to a class II air quality operating permit for Redwood Materials, Inc. in Carson City.

The public comment period is from Nov. 20 to Dec. 20. The permit revision would be for a facility at 2401 Conestoga Drive.

“The BAPC has reviewed the application and has made a preliminary determination to issue a revised permit for Redwood Materials, Inc.,” states a public notice from NDEP. “Redwood Materials, Inc. is a production facility that reprocesses various grades of lithium-ion batteries into metal material commodities.”

The proposed project would not violate federal or state air quality standards, according to NDEP.

Persons wishing to comment regarding the proposed action can submit their comments to Ashley Taylor, P.E., Nevada Division of Environmental Protection, Bureau of Air Pollution Control, 901 S. Stewart St., Suite 4001, Carson City, NV 89701.
