The Nevada State Museum in Carson City will celebrate El Dia de los Muertos – or “Day of the Dead” – with a variety of cultural activities for all ages.

El Dia de los Muertos celebrates the lives of loved ones who have passed on. During the festival, families memorialize loved ones with music, dancing, feasts, decorative altars, and Ofrendas.

The altar presentation this year is scheduled to be held from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 3 in the Dema Guinn Concourse. The celebration continues Saturday, Nov. 4 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with performances by traditional Mexican dance and music troupes, exhibits, food, and crafts.

Children of all ages are invited. Activities will also include face painting and a photo booth. Admission is free. The museum is located at 600 N. Carson St.
