Photo by Scott Neuffer: CCFD responded to a small brush fire in the Stewart Community in South Carson City on Monday. The fire, cause unknown, was put out within 25 minutes. Fire restrictions within the city were lifted Wednesday.
Due to “decreasing sunlight, increasing fuel moisture levels and cooler evenings,” the Carson City Fire Department lifted fire restrictions on Wednesday.
In a news release, CCFD said the restrictions were previously imposed July 28 on privately owned lands within Carson City. Those restrictions curtailed not just fires, but smoking, welding, off-roading and types of ammunition, among other things.
“Please continue to practice fire safety measures throughout these fall and winter months,” CCFD urged residents Wednesday.
