Chandler Ricks, an 11th grader at Sierra Lutheran High School, and Boy Scout Troop 341  cleaned and repaired the 9/11 memorial near the main entrance of Carson High, according to a news release.

During the Eagle Scout project over the weekend preceding Sept. 11, the troop scraped gum, power-washed, filled in cracks, repaired broken cement on the left tower and polished the marble plaques. They also cleaned the bronze plate, which includes a poem written by Ricks’ aunt Charity Moore. The poem and bronze plate were dedicated Sept. 11, 2002.
