Twain Train returns to Mark Twain Days Festival on May 10

The Twain Train VIP rail excursion to Virginia City will be part of the festivities of the second annual Mark Twain Days Festival.

The train will depart from the Eastgate Depot on Friday, May 10 at 2:30 p.m. Passengers will arrive in Virginia City at 3:45 p.m., where they will have a 3.5-hour window to explore the town and its attractions. The train will depart at 7:30 p.m. from Virginia City and arrive back in Carson City at 8:30 p.m.

The ride will feature a unique experience with snacks and hand-crafted elixirs served in souvenir glasses. Passengers will be serenaded by local musicians and storytellers, as well as Mark Twain characters.

In addition to the ride:

• The Territorial Enterprise Museum will offer tours from 4-7 p.m.

• St. Mary’s Art Center will host live music, art exhibitions and a Twain reading at 5:30 p.m.

• Fourth Ward School & Museum will be open from 5-7 p.m., with printing press demonstrations and historian talks on Twain's time in Virginia City.

• Mark Twain Casino will be open for Twain merchandise, free mustache giveaways and photo ops (21 and over only).

General admission tickets are $125 per person. VIP packages are available for $600 with accommodations for four guests. For larger groups, the VIP Private Room option provides seating for up to 15 people for $2,500.
