Lots of laughs headed your way this Valentine's weekend, plus two great movies and our annual Valentines 5K walk/run!
So, playing both Friday and Saturday evenings at 6 p.m. is the great 2001 animated comedy fantasy “Shrek.” Once upon a time, in a faraway swamp, there lived an ogre named Shrek whose precious solitude is suddenly shattered by an invasion of annoying fairy tale characters. They were all banished from their kingdom by the evil Lord Farquaad.
Determined to save their home – not to mention his – Shrek cuts a deal with Farquaad and sets out to rescue Princess Fiona to be Farquaad's bride. Rescuing the Princess may be small compared to her deep, dark secret.
Voices provided by Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, John Lithgow and Cameron Diaz.
Also Friday night, starting at 6:30 p.m., join us for a great Valentine's Day event – live music provided by the Domesticated Man Band and immediately following will be the showing of the terrific 1993 romance comedy “Sleepless in Seattle.”
After the death of his wife, Sam Baldwin moves to Seattle with his son, Jonah. When Jonah calls in to a talk radio program to find a new wife for his father, Sam grudgingly gets on the line to discuss his feelings. Annie Reed, a reporter in Baltimore, hears Sam speak and falls for him, even though she is engaged. Unsure where it will lead, she writes Sam a letter asking him to meet her at the Empire State Building on Valentine's Day.
Starring Tom Hanks, Meg Ryan, Ross Malinger, Rita Wilson and Rob Reiner.
On Saturday, please join us for our annual Valentine's 5K Walk/Run. Registration starts at 8 a.m. and 5K starts at 9 a.m. Then that evening join us for some great live stand up comedy as February Funnies takes our stage starring Marc Yaffee with special guests Adam Stone and Brian Lee.
The show starts at 7 p.m., and you must be 18 or older. Tickets are $20 in advance (brianleecomedy.ticketleap.com) or $25 at the door. Hope to see you at all these great events.
