The Rotary Club of Carson City is seeking young musicians to take part in the club’s annual music contest.

The contest is open to students in 9-12th grade, or 14-18 years of age for home schooled or non-traditionally schooled students. The first round takes place Feb. 27 at 6:30 p.m. in the Brewery Arts Center’s Grand Ballroom.

All musical instruments are welcome. The student needs to perform for 3 to 8 minutes. A total of $250 in prize money will be awarded with the winner receiving $100.

The winner will then advance to the area contest and potentially onto the district contest. Those contests also award cash prizes.

Anyone interested in taking part in the competition, contact Michael Pelham at michael.ross.pelham@gmail.com.
