Due to the Nevada Department of Transportation and the Department of Public Safety reporting severe weather and potentially dangerous road conditions worsening over the next several hours, Gov. Joe Lombardo has ordered all state executive branch government offices (other than essential public safety and corrections personnel) close at 1:30 p.m. on Friday in Carson City, Douglas, Lyon, Storey and Washoe counties, according to a news release from the governor’s office.

The governor’s office will continue to monitor weather conditions, the release said. Lombardo urges Northern Nevadans to take caution on roadways and to follow all NDOT and DPS guidance.
