Cinderella opens May 10

WNMTC brings Cinderella to the Carson City Community Center weekends, May 10-19.

In this new release, Cinderella wants to help the prince understand that people are suffering in his kingdom. Prince Topher’s (Christopher’s) parents have died and the prince had been sent off to college, leaving the kingdom to the designs of a sinister Lord Protector, Sebastian. A new character, the revolutionary Jean-Michel, tries in vain to get the prince’s attention to let him know that the villagers are losing their homes and land.

And in a charming new twist, Jean-Michel falls for Cinderella’s stepsister, Gabrielle, but her controlling mother forbids her to pursue the relationship.

The revised script adds depth and humor to the characters, with stunning choreography animated by brilliant new orchestrations, performed by a 16-piece professional orchestra. The production captured multiple drama desk awards and Tony nominations during its Broadway run.

This classic fairy tale will play Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday afternoons at 2 p.m. All seating is reserved.

Tickets are $25/$28 and available at WNMTC.com
