5-car pileup

A rear-end accident involving five cars closed a southbound lane of Carson Street at Bath Street at 12:35 p.m. Monday.

Nobody was injured when five cars hit each other in succession. The accident took place at 12:35 p.m. in the southbound fast lane of Carson Street in front of the Frontier Motel.

A Dodge pickup truck was stopped and then hit from behind by a Nissan sedan, followed by a Chevrolet Blazer, then a Ford sedan and finally another Chevrolet Blazer. The Nissan and Ford sedans suffered the most visible damage, with the Ford's air bag discharging during the wreck.
