Fall colors at Virginia Lakes

The early-season fall colors of the Quaking Aspen trees are well-worth seeing at the present time along the Virginia Lakes Road.

That 6-mile, paved road is just west of the top of Conway Summit on U.S. 395. Conway Summit is about 15 miles south of Bridgeport, Calif.

Bridgeport is about 83 miles south of Carson City.

The Virginia Lakes Road reaches an elevation of about 9,000 feet and the surrounding countryside is now rapidly taking on its spectacular fall colors.

This would be an excellent weekend ride (about two hours one-way) for those individuals who would like to enjoy those fall colors.
