Twenty-one members of the Nevada Air National Guard have returned home from the Choke Cherry fire in north eastern Nevada. Ten members were asked to stay in Elko and provide support to the staging area set up there. Their mission will be to provide three meals a day to approximately 100-250 firefighters. The staging areas in Elko and Stead are being used for firefighting crews rotating from fires, waiting for their next assignment.

The Nevada National Guard has personnel and equipment throughout Nevada to assist other firefighting efforts.

Another group of personnel are also expected to be released from the Twin Peaks fire near Fallon.
