Obituary: Lillie Mildred Starling

A graveside service for Lillie Mildred Starling, 91, a Carson City resident for the past four years, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Santa Paula Cemetery in Santa Paula, Calif.

Mrs. Starling died Sept. 17, 2000, at her home. She was born April 14, 1909, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Freeman and Bessie Halloway Rone.

She married L.B. Starling April 5, 1926. He preceded her in death in 1982.

Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Valley Springs, Calif.

Mrs. Starling was a homemaker. She enjoyed quilting and painting. She served at Vultee Aircraft during World War II.

Among her survivors are her son Glenn of La Mirada, Calif.; daughter Mildred Casper of Carson City; sister Clara Fielding of Anchorage, Alaska; seven granddaughters; one grandson; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to Capital Christian Center, Capital School Scholarship Fund, Foreign Missions Fund, for Kent and Michelle Smith, 1600 Snyder Ave., Carson City 89701.

FitzHenry's Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
